About

Why Generosity Matters

Many people want to be generous, but they don’t know where to start. Life feels busy. Needs feel overwhelming. And too often, people assume generosity requires wealth or extra time they don’t have.

Generosity Matters helps close the clarity gap (“What do I do?”), the confidence gap (“Do I matter?”), and the connection gap (“Who’s doing this with me?”).

We make generous living simple, doable, and meaningful: one small step at a time.

Why Be Generous?

Generosity isn’t just about money or buying things for people. At its core, generosity is choosing to use what you already have – your time, attention, energy, abilities, and compassion – to make someone else’s life a little better.

Here’s the beautiful truth: you don’t need to be wealthy, older, or “fully grown up” to be generous. You already carry things that matter – your words, encouragement, skills, creativity, humor, empathy, and willingness to help.

When you practice generosity, you shape the kind of person you become.

Our Mission

Generosity Matters exists to help people live generously with their time, attention, resources, and compassion.

We believe generosity is not for the extraordinary; it’s for everyone. It’s a daily practice that grows through small acts, honest reflection, and meaningful connection.

Our mission is to make generous living accessible, practical, and life-changing.

Our Story

Generosity Matters began with a simple question: What does it mean to live generously? What started as a personal search for a more grounded way of living (beyond the noise of consumer culture and the pressure of “never enough”) led to a discovery that changed everything: generosity transforms both the giver and the receiver.

A private exploration soon grew into a larger movement: a community of people learning how kindness, empathy, and abundance can reshape the world.

That journey inspired the creation of Generosity Matters, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people practice generosity in everyday life.

We translate the science and wisdom of generosity into handcrafted tools: daily micro-challenges, guided reflections, assessments, journey maps, inspirational quotes, and learning resources.

Our purpose is simple: We help people cultivate generous identities and habits before the moment of need so generosity becomes who they are – not just something they occasionally do.

Members often describe this journey as a shift from “never enough” to a mindset of abundance, clarity, and purpose.
